Two Event Wins And Six School Records Highlight Regent's Historic Day At The Eastern Shore Challenge

Salisbury, NC – On Saturday, the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field team made their annual trip to the over the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel to compete in the Eastern Shore Challenge at Salisbury University.  The Royals have had a tradition of success at the event and today would produce a Historical performance with two Event Wins and six School Records..  Below are the official results. 

Men's 100m 

Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) finished with a time of 12.35 seconds 

Women's 100m 

Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover, MD) came in at 13.61 seconds 

Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) finished at 14.76 seconds 

Freshman Daria Easton ran a time of 15.99 seconds 

Women's 100m Hurdles 

Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trial. NC) won the event and broke the School Record with a time of 15.30 seconds 

Men's 200m 

Freshman Creighton Hartsell (Newport News, VA) ran a Personal Record time of 24.41 seconds 

Freshman Cayden Sierra (Newport News, VA) had a Personal Record of 28.21 seconds 

Women's 200m 

Freshman Gabrielle Butler (New Kent VA) finsihed with a time of 27.35 seconds 

Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover, MD) came in at 28.34 seconds 

Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) finished with a time of 30.05 seconds 

Freshman Daria Easton ran a Personal Record time of 31.89 seconds 

Men's 400m 

Senior Joshua Vogt (Rochester, NY) set a Personal Record running 53.02 seconds 

Sophomore Joel Nyakundi (Kisi, Kenya) finished at 1:00.38 

Freshman Cayden Sierra (Newport News, VA) came in with a Personal Record 1:02.64 

Women's 400m 

Freshman Gabrielle Butler (New Kent VA) finished in 2nd place with a time of 1:01.60 

Men's 800m 

Freshman Thomas Slingluff (Suffolk, VA) ran a time of 2:08.94 

Freshman Bryce Nearman (Stafford, VA) came in at 2:15.76 

Freshman Xavier Gonzalez finished with a time of 2:45.55 

Women's 1500m 

Freshman Louise Monga-Rochard (Toano, VA) broke the School Record and finished 3rd overall with a time of 5:19.16 

Men's Discus  

Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) threw a Personal Record 27.63m 

Women's Discus  

Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) finished 2nd overall with a throw of 27.51m 

Senior LaTonya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) threw a distance of 23.81m 

Freshman Chloe Basnett (Columbus, OH) had a throw of 20.67m 

Men's Hammer Throw   

Senior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) broke the School Record and finished 5th overall with a throw of 39.15m 

Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) threw a distance of 36.81m 

Women's Hammer Throw  

Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) finished with a throw of 29.35m 

Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) had a throw of 25.75m 

Men's Javelin  

Senior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) set a Personal Record with a throw of 33.63m 

Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) threw a distance of 29.82m 

Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) finshed with a throw of 26.60m 

Sophomore Thomas Isaac (Burke, VA) threw a Personal Record 19.37m 

Women's Javelin 

Freshman Chloe Basnett (Columbus, OH) finished with a distance of 21.66m 

Senior LaTonya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) had a throw of 19.44m 

Women's Long Jump 

Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trial. NC) finished in 5th place with a jump of 4.81m 

Men's Shot Put  

Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) had a Top 10 finish with a throw of 8.16m 

Women's Shot Put  

Freshman Zacarah Hubbard (Virginia Beach, VA) won the event and set a Personal Record with a throw of 10.40m 

Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) finished 3rd overall with a Personal Record throw of 9.97m 

Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) threw 8.49m 

Senior LaTonya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) had a throw of 8.38m 

Women's 4x100m Relay 

Olojo, Moser, Butler and Foose broke their own school record with a time of 52.62 seconds 

Men's 4 x100 Relay

Harstell, Vogt, Ellis and Sierra broke the School Record with a time of 47.75 seconds

Men's 4x400m Relay 

Vogt, SLingluff, Hartsell and Winck set a School Record with a time of 3:33.60 

Regent's Men will be back in action on May 1st and 2nd when they compete in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championships in Fredericksburg, VA.  However, the Women will travel to Appalachian State University for a Meet on April 25th in Boone, NC.
