Royals Excel in the Classroom with Six VaSID Academic All-State Selections

Virginia Beach, VA - Six Regent University student-athletes have been recognized for their outstanding achievements in the classroom and in competition, earning selection to the 2025-26 Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) Academic All-State Team.

The statewide honor recognizes student-athletes who have demonstrated excellence both academically and athletically throughout the academic year. The 2025-26 VaSID Academic All-State Team featured 215 student-athletes representing 36 colleges and universities across the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Regent's six honorees represent five different athletic programs and a variety of academic disciplines, highlighting the university's continued commitment to developing student-athletes who pursue excellence in every area of their lives.

  • Thomas Slingluff – Junior | Suffolk, Va. | Business/Sports Management | Men's Cross Country/Track & Field
  • Theydon Roles – Junior | King George, Va. | Film & Television | Men's Volleyball
  • Bethany Pikkaart – Senior | Stafford, Va. | Business | Women's Soccer
  • Rhyan Primmer – Senior | Stafford, Va. | Business | Women's Soccer

The VaSID Academic All-State Team honors student-athletes who exemplify a commitment to academic achievement while competing at a high level in intercollegiate athletics. The recognition reflects the dedication, discipline, and character required to succeed both in the classroom and in athletic competition.

The six Royals selected continue Regent University's tradition of academic excellence, serving as outstanding representatives of the University's mission to develop Christian leaders who change the world. Their accomplishments demonstrate the balance of scholarship, athletic success, and servant leadership that defines the Royal student-athlete experience.
