Virginia Beach, VA – The Regent University Athletic Department has officially announced the 2026-27 Men's Basketball schedule, ushering in a new era for the Royals as Barry Hollenbeck begins his first season as Head Coach. 

Hollenbeck takes over the program after serving as the Associate Head Coach and brings a strong vision for continued growth as Regent enters its second season of NCAA play. The 2026-27 schedule features a challenging slate of regional opponents, NCAA Division III competition, and Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference (C2C) match-ups that will prepare the Royals as they look to qualify for the Conference Tournament.  

The season begins with a pair of exhibition contests against Norfolk State (Nov. 2) and Old Dominion (Nov. 4) before the Royals officially open their regular season at home on Sunday, Nov. 8, against Penn State Altoona. Regent will then continue its opening home stand by welcoming Mary Baldwin University (Nov. 11) and Methodist University (Nov. 14) to Virginia Beach.  

The non-conference schedule includes several strong regional tests, highlighted by trips to Randolph College, Batten University, the Christopher Newport Holiday Invitational, North Carolina Wesleyan, Shenandoah University, Penn State Altoona's Holiday Tournament, Hampton University, McDaniel College, and Christendom College. The Royals will also host William Peace University, St. Mary's College of Maryland, and Southern Virginia University.  

Conference action begins in January with home and away contests against Warren Wilson College, Salisbury University, and Johnson & Wales Charlotte, before closing the regular season with road games at Salisbury and the University of Mary Washington. The top teams will then compete in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament, scheduled for Feb. 25-27 at Christopher Newport University.  

Regent returns Senior Antoine Brown (Chesapeake, VA), who is second overall in program career scoring, along with his brother Sophomore Christian Brown (Chesapeake, VA) who will look to continue his streak of double-digit scoring games and Sophomore Grant Worley (Chesapeake, VA), who will provide athleticism and scoring.  In addition, Sophomore Joshua Hanna, Junior Chauncey Gilliam (Chesapeake, VA) and Senior Dorian Tema (Frederick, MD) are back and will provide a strong presence under the basketball.
