Greenville, SC - The National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association has announced that Regent University's Senior
Kali Murrell (Long Beach, CA) has been named the Division I Women's Basketball National Player of the Week. This marks the first time a student-athlete from the program has earned this honor.
Murrell had a record breaking weekend for the Royals, as she helped her team win two straight home games on Friday and Saturday. She could not miss from behind the three-point line this weekend, recording a single game school record with nine made threes in a 100-28 win over Trinity Washington University. Murrell added seven more made threes in a win over Berkeley College for a total of 16 on the week. The senior from Long Beach, California shot 72.7% from behind the arc while going 68.9% from the field. Murrell scored 27 or more points in both contests this week and tallied a Regent single game record for points with 34 against Trinity Washington as well. All in all she finished the weekend with a total of 61 points
