Columbia, SC – The final day of the 2025 season for the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field team presented another opportunity for Coach Michael Rose's team to add to their historic season. Day Two of the NCCAA National Championships consisted of three Royals competing in four events, against some of the Nation's best. As they have shown all season, Regent's performances proved that they belonged in the conversation.
The day began with Junior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, NC) competing in the Triple Jump, which he currently owns the School Record in. He would complete the first flight in 2nd place, which propelled him to the finals. After three more strong jumps, he finished in the Top Ten coming in 7th place with a distance of 13.78m.
Freshman Thomas Slingluff (Suffolk, VA), who was making his first appearance at Nationals, competed in the Men's 800m. Slingluff would save his best for last as he set a Personal Record with a time of 2:04.77.
Freshman Sophia Moritz (Virginia Beach, VA) began her day competing in the Finals of the Women's 100m Hurdles where she set a School Record with a time of 15.54. Her performance earned her a Top 10 finish, coming in 8th overall. However, Moritz was not done as she finished 2nd overall, setting another School Record, in the Women's 400m Hurdles. In addition, her runner-up finish earned her All-American honors, which was the first of her career.
Now that the season is over, Regent will look ahead to next year as they return a number of upperclassmen to go along with a strong incoming recruiting class. In the meantime, the Royals would like to thank everyone for their support this season.
