VaSID names Cropper First Team All-State, While Moritz Named Track Rookie of the Year

Ferrum, VA – The Virginia Sports Information Directors (VaSID) announced the 2025 College Division Men's and Women's Outdoor Track & Field All-State Team on Thursday.  For the first time in school history, two Regent University student-athletes have been named to the team as Junior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) was selected to the First Team for the High Jump, while Freshman Sophia Moritz (Virginia Beach, VA) was selected to the Second Team for the 400m Hurdles.  In addition, Moritz was named The Track Rookie of the Year for the State.

Cropper had one of his best outdoor seasons of his college career as he set the School Record in both the High Jump (1.95m) and the Triple Jump (13.83).  His record-breaking performances earned him a spot in the NCCAA National Championships where he finished 5th in the High Jump and 7th in the Triple Jump.

Moritz made waves in her first season at Regent, finishing as the national runner-up in the 400-meter hurdles at the National Christian Collegiate Athletic Association (NCCAA) National Championships. She was an All-American and set the school record time of 1:04.17 in the 400m hurdles. Moritz also excelled in the 100m hurdles, running a School Record of 15.54 to place eighth at the NCCAA Nationals.

VaSID names 44 all-state teams in 23 sports annually, an Academic All-State squad and an all-sports champion in both the University and College Divisions. Membership in VaSID is open to all media relations professionals working at a university or conference in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
