Newport News, VA – For the first time in Program history, the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field team competed in the Coast-To-Coast Athletic Conference Championships at Christopher Newport University.    

Women's Track Events   

60m Dash Prelims:   

• Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover, MD) finished with a time of 8.60 seconds. 

• Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) ran a time of 8.92 seconds. 

• Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) finished with a time of 9.00 seconds. 

60m Hurdles 

• Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) qualified for the finals tomorrow with a time of 9.77 seconds. 

Women's Field Events   

Long Jump:   

• Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) led the way with a jump of 4.42m 

• Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) jumped a distance of 4.14m 

• Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover, MD) finished with a jump of 3.78m 

• Freshman Emersyn Vandervoort (Paragould, AR) had a jump of 3.61m 

Weight Throw:   

• Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) earned a Top 3 finish with a Personal Record throw of 12.63m 

• Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) made the finals and set a Personal Record to finish in 7th place with a throw of 10.87m 

• Freshman LaTanya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) set a Personal Record throwing 10.39m 

• Freshman Zacarah Hubbard (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a Personal Record throw of 7.12m 

Men's Track Events   

60m Dash Prelims:   

• Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) ran a time of 7.90 seconds. 

Men's 4000m DMR:     

• Sophomore Thomas Isaac (Burke, VA), Freshman Creighton Hartsell (Newport News, VA), Freshman Bryce Nearman (Stafford, VA) and Freshman Cayden Sierra (Newport News, VA) ran the event for the first time and finished with a Team Record time of 11:40.56 

Men's Field Events   

Men's Long Jump: 

• Senior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) finished 8th overall with a jump of 6.13m 

Weight Throw:   

• Junior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) led the way with a throw of 11.04m 

• Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) finished with a throw of 10.65m 

• Senior Evan Pond (Powhatan, VA) set a Personal Record of 10.28m 

• Senior Ernest Park III (Bentonville, AR) finished with a throw of 8.58M 

The Royals will be back in action on Saturday, February 21st when they compete in Day Two of the Championships.
