Cropper Becomes Regent's First Ever Conference Champion, while Butler and Cole Medal

Newport News, VA – For the first time in Program history, the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field were able to say they have a Conference Champion and two medal finishes.  It was an historic day as Coach Rose's team continues to climb the ladder of DIII Athletics.   

Women's Track Events   

60m Hurdles Final: 

  • Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) finished 8th overall in with a time of 9.72 seconds. 

200M Dash: 

  • Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) set a Personal Record time of 30.20 seconds 

  • Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) finished at 30.76 seconds. 

400M Dash: 

  • Freshman Gabrielle Butler (New Kent, VA) finished 2nd overall and set a Personal Record with a time of 1:00.75 

800M Run: 

Mile Run: 

Women's Field Events   

Triple Jump:   

  • Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) Finished with a jump of 9.72m 

Shot Put:   

  • Freshman Zacarah Hubbard (Virginia Beach, VA) had a Top 5 finish with a Personal Record throw of 9.72m 

  • Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) had a throw of 8.78m 

  • Freshman LaTanya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) set a Personal Record on a throw of 8.66m 

  • Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) finished with a throw of 7.90m 

Men's Track Events   

200M Dash:   

  • Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) ran a season best 7.90 seconds. 

  • Freshman Creighton Hartsell (Newport News, VA) set a Personal Record with a time of 27.38 seconds. 

Men's 400m: 

  • Freshman Creighton Hartsell (Newport News, VA) set a Personal Record with a time of 1:00.92 

Men's 800m:     

  • Sophomore Thomas Isaac (Burke, VA) led the way with a time of 2:07.45 

  • Freshman Bryce Nearman (Stafford, VA) ran a time of 2:24.81 

  • Freshman Cayden Sierra (Newport News, VA) set a Personal Record with a time of 2:32.68 

Men's Mile Run 

  • Freshman Xavier Gonzalez set a Personal Record with a time of 6:17.55 

Men's Field Events   

Men's High Jump: 

  • Senior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) became Regent's first ever Conference Champion finishing in first place with a jump of 1.87m 

Men's Triple Jump 

  • Senior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) finished 2nd overall and earned Second Team All-Conference Honors with a jump of 13.55m 

Shot Put 

  • Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a throw of 7.42m 

Relays 

Women's 4x400, Men's 4x400 and Men's 4000 Distance Medley (Results to Follow) 

The Royals will now turn their attention to the Outdoor Season.
