Newport News, VA – As the Coast-To-Coast Conference Championships get closer, the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field teams were at the sight of those Championships on Sunday at Christopher Newport University.  If today's results are any indication of what will happen, the Royals are in good shape as more Records fell and seeding increased in each event. 

Women's Track Events   

60m Dash:   

• Freshman Elizabeth Olojo (Hanover, MD) set a Personal Record finishing with a time of 8.48 seconds.  

• Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) finished with a Personal Record time of 8.81 seconds.  

• Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) ran a Personal Record time of 9.00 seconds. 

60m Hurdles 

• Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) ran a time of 9.76 seconds. 

200m Dash:   

• Sophomore Jordana Foose (Chesterfield, VA) ran a time of 30.73 seconds. 

• Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) finished with a time of 31.03 seconds. 

400m Dash:   

• Freshman Louise Monga-Rochard (Toano, VA) ran a Personal Record of 1:08.17 seconds. 

800m Run:   

• Freshman Gabrielle Butler (New Kent, VA) finished 7th with a time of 2:31.01 seconds.    

Women's Field Events   

Long Jump:   

• Junior Kristi Moser (Indian Trail, NC) finished in 5th place with a jump of 4.65M 

• Junior Shylah Wells (Youngsville, NC) made the finals and set a Personal Record jumping a distance of 4.34M 

• Freshman Emersyn Vandervoort (Paragould, AR) set a Personal Record with a jump of 3.68m 

Shot Put:   

• Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) made the finals and finished in 9th place with a Personal Record throw of 9.39m 

• Freshman LaTanya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a throw of 8.54m 

• Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) finished with a throw of 8.06m 

Weight Throw:   

• Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) made the finals and finished in 6th place with a Personal Record throw of 11.36m 

• Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) finished with a Personal Record throw of 8.54m. 

• Freshman LaTanya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a Personal Record 8.38m. 

Men's Track Events   

60m Dash:   

• Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) finished his preliminary heat in 8.16 seconds.  

60m Hurdles:   

• Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) finished with a time of 10.71 seconds.   

200m Dash:   

• Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) finished with a time of 24.77 seconds. 

• Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) came in at 26.01 seconds. 

400m Dash:   

• Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) came in 8th with a Personal Record time of 53.53 seconds.   

• Freshman Bryce Nearman (Stafford, VA) finished with a time of 1:01.88 

800m Run:   

• Sophomore Thomas Slingluff (Suffolk, VA) set a Personal Record time of 2:08.64  

• Sophomore Thomas Isaac (Burke, VA) set a Personal Record time of 2:10.34 

• Freshman Bryce Nearman (Stafford, VA) set a Personal Record time of 2:11.79 

1 Mile Run:   

• Sophomore Thomas Slingluff (Suffolk, VA) ran a time of 4:51:29 

• Sophomore Thomas Isaac (Burke, VA) set a Personal Record time of 5:05.43 

• Freshman Creighton Hartsell (Newport News, VA) finished with Personal Record at 5:43.57 

• Freshman Cayden Sierra (Newport News, VA) finished with a time of 6:00.33 

Men's Field Events   

High Jump 

• Senior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) won the event and set a School Record with a jump of 2,03m   

Long Jump  

• Senior Kevin Cropper (Oak Hall, VA) set a School Record and finished 3rd overall with a jump of 6.44m 

Shot Put:   

• Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) led the way with a throw of 11.10m 

• Junior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a Personal Record of 9.34m  

• Senior Evan Pond (Powhatan, VA) finished with a throw of 8.21m 

• Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) finished with a throw of 7.62m 

Weight Throw:   

• Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) broke his own School Record and finished 7th overall with a throw of 12.74m 

• Junior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) had a top ten finish with a throw of 11.18m 

• Senior Evan Pond (Powhatan, VA) tied his Personal Record as he threw a distance of 9.53m 

• Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) had a top 15 finish with a throw of 6.38m    

Regent will be back in action on Friday, February 13th when they compete in Pre-Nationals at Norfolk State University.
