Mount Olive, NC – Throws took center stage for the Regent University Men's and Women's Track & Field team on Day One of the Trojan Relays. The Royals had a successful day with a number of them making the finals of their events and placing in the Top 10. Results are below.
Women's Hammer Throw
Freshman Daesha Hill (Williamsburg, VA) led the way throwing 31.16m
Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) finished with a throw of 30.82
Men's Hammer Throw
Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, VA) had a throw of 37.16m
Senior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) threw a distance of 33.50m
Women's Javelin
Senior LaTonya Hopkins (Virginia Beach, VA) came in 6th with a throw of 23.78m
Freshman Chloe Basnett (Columbus, OH) finished 7th throwing 21.48m
Freshman Mikaela Cole (Farmington, NY) was 8th with a throw of 15.14m
Men's Javelin
Junior Aidan Kingsborough (Clarkston, WA) finished 3rd overall with a throw of 43.60m
Senior Nigel Rodriguez (Virginia Beach, VA) came in 6th throwing 33.50m
Sophomore Jacob Winck (Breezewood, PA) was 8th with throw of 31.95m
Sophomore Jaxon Sawyer (Virginia Beach, VA) had a 9th place finish throwing a distance of 27.84m
Senior Asher Ellis (Morganton, NC) finished in 10th throwing 27.41m
Regent will be back in action on Saturday, April 11th for Day Two of the event. The action starts at 9:00am.
