Regent Ready for Year Three Under Minter As 2026-27 Women's Basketball Schedule Is Released

Virginia Beach, VA - Regent University Women's Basketball has announced its 2026-27 schedule as the Royals prepare for the third season under Head Coach Donte Minter

The upcoming campaign features a challenging slate of NCAA Division III opponents, Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference competition and an appearance in the North Carolina Wesleyan Invitational before Regent heads west for the C2C Tournament in February. 

The Royals begin their schedule on October 22 with road exhibitions against Tidewater Community College in Portsmouth and The Apprentice School on November 4 before making their season and home debut against Averett University on November 8 at 6 p.m.  

Regent will spend much of November on the road. Following the home opener, Regent travels to Mary Baldwin University on November 10 before competing in the North Carolina Wesleyan Invitational in Rocky Mount, North Carolina, on November 14-15. The month continues with road contests against Salem College, Virginia Wesleyan University, Pfeiffer University and Guilford College.  

December brings the Royals back to Virginia Beach for a pair of home contests. The Royals host Eastern Mennonite University on December 12 at noon before welcoming Randolph College on December 16 at 2 p.m. The Royals close the calendar year on December 31 at Goucher College in Baltimore.  

Regent opens 2027 on the road at Hollins University on January 2 before traveling to the University of Mary Washington on January 9. Other January road contests include Warren Wilson and Christopher Newport University. The Royals return home January 23 to face Johnson & Wales University at 2 p.m. before hosting Mary Washington on January 27 and Salisbury University on January 30.  

The schedule provides Regent with an extended home stretch heading into February. The Royals welcome Trinity Washington University on February 2 and Warren Wilson on February 5, giving Regent four consecutive home games from January 23 through February 5.  

The Royals then close out the regular-season portion of its schedule on the road with trips to Johnson & Wales University in Charlotte, Christendom College and Salisbury University.  

The season will culminate on the West Coast as Regent travels to Santa Cruz, California, for the Coast-to-Coast Athletic Conference Tournament beginning February 25.  

The Royals will return Senior Shardae Williams (Fredericksburg, VA), who brings leadership and experience to the program, along with Sophomore Mikaylah Telfer (Chesapeake, VA) who was one of the top rebounders in the NCAA last season.and broke the single season rebounding record for Regent.  Sophomores Amara Groth (Chesapeake,VA) and Eliza Entzminger (Winterville, NC) also return after having strong seasons in their first year and will provide points for the Royals.  In addition, Coach Minter has brought in the strongest recruiting class in program history which includes two transfers and four Freshmen.
