Box Score Norfolk, VA - The Regent University Men's Soccer team returned home on Wednesday night, as they welcomed in NCAA Division III and USA South member North Carolina Wesleyan University. All season long the Royals have faced tough competition and tonight would prove to be the same. However, Coach Samuel Okai had his team ready to come out strong and defend their home turf. While it did not go the way Regent had hoped, they showed that they are capable of playing with anyone in the country.
The Royals held their own in the first half and were able to deny a number of scoring opportunities by the Battling Bishops. Unfortunately, NC Wesleyan was able to break though and score three goals in the first half. In the second half, Regent continued to showcase its defensive ability and Frehsman
Connor Henriques (Spotsylvania, VA) denied numerous shots. However, as the game came to an end, the Royals would ultimately fall by a final score 5-0.
Regent will be back in action on Saturday, October 28th as they host Mid-Atlantic Christian University. The Royals two Seniors will be honored at the game.
